Today was the first day I had been back on the bike since this past Sunday. I was worried I would still be out of commission, but I felt great. I have lost a little bit of power, but after two weeks of being sick and not riding much, its to be expected. A few days, maybe a week or two, and I should be back on track.
I did learn something very valuable through all this. Even though my cold didn't effect my legs at first, racing out in the weather while having a cold sure did cause it to spread to my legs. I should've stayed home, but either way I would've missed a race, I just hate that I missed 2 weeks of good training. Its still early, and I'll remember this for later illnesses.
I got back from Indiana yesterday afternoon, and I'm glad to be back. I got to see a some neat stuff while I was gone like Lake Michigan, another coke plant(coke that's made from coal, not coca cola), I stayed in a hotel with a casino(but I didn't drop any $$), a truck that was done by the show Trick my Truck off of CMT, but most importantly the Indianapolis Velodrome. It made me want to buy a track bike. Overall though I'm glad to be home. Everyone in Chicago was nice, but I'm no yankee.
I'll try to keep a record of my recovery, and how long it takes to get back on top.
Thanks for reading.......
